• Find a flat surface to work on. Turn on the hot glue gun so it’s ready to go when you need it.
  
• Lay out your 5 inch square of dark plum felt. Cut out a circle with a 5 inch diameter by trimming each corner of the square.

• Select one side of the felt square. From the center of that side cut a convex shape to the center of the adjacent side. Repeat that cut on all four sides until you have a circle. *
  
• Cut a spiral about ¾ inch thick to the center of the circle. Try your best to keep the spiral width even.
  
• Leave a tab of felt in the center so you can glue all the ruffled rose together.
  
• Every half inch to inch cut out a little notch to make the ruffled part of the rose.
  
• Start rolling the felt from the outside of the circle to the center. Dab glue every so often to keep the flower together.
  
• Once you have reached the end of rolling your felt load up some glue on the remaining tab and set the rolled flower on it.
  
• Allow the glue to dry and set the ruffled rose aside.
  

Creating the Leaves

• Taking the 4 inch square of sea grass felt cut the square into fours by folding in half and cutting into two pieces.

• Fold the pieces in half again for fourths and cut for a total of four squares.
  
• Grab one 2 inch square of felt and cut in a convex arch from one corner to the opposite corner.
  
• Repeat the convex arch back to the original corner.
  
• You will now have a simple leaf. Repeat with the other three green squares for the poppy and chrysanthemum felt flowers.
  

Putting the Ruffled Rose Together

• Load up some hot glue on a corner of a leaf.
  
• Then place the ruffled rose on top of the glue. Once dry you have your ruffled rose felt flower!
